My audio interface seems to have died yesterday. Its screen lights up but there's no menu and just a ground hum when I plug it in. I was at first thinking the whole thing died, and that still may be so, but I checked out the wall wart power supply and it had a faint electrical burn smell. It looked like there may have also been a very small amount of liquid coming out of it (didn't know they worked like that, but maybe some component has a small amount of some kind of acid? I don't know!). So I'm thinking maybe it'll work if I can replace the power supply. I hope so. It's nice having all of those inputs/outputs and though just being able to have made "Philomel" happen in quadraphonic sound, it'd be nice to still be able to get even more uses out of it! Also, I plugged up my old shitty usb interface and it kept getting that crackling sound through the speakers (like the audio rate isn't matching correctly, I feel like I had that issue sometimes when I first tried the nicer interface, I don't remember what resolved it, and I've tried things that I thought should but no luck so far...anyway, I need something working to at least listen through my stereo!). Okay, so after work Mary Beth and I went up to CVS and got both our covid booster and flu shot. So far feeling pretty good, just the usual arm soreness where they were stuck in. I also got tired real suddenly last night around bedtime and not sure if that was related to the shot, but I don't to often get that sudden "oh I have to pass out right now" feeling. In between all that, we went up to Hattiloo to see this play called Father Comes Home From the Wars, Parts 1, 2 & 3, which was sort of a take on The Odyssey about a slave that travels with his master during the Civil War (the actual Civil War part is really just Part 2, with the other parts being the before and the after).
