My jacket was found! I should be able to pick it up later today. In the afternoon I finished reading No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy. It was pretty good. For a lot of it the taut writing could be effective, but at times the whole "He stood up. Walked over to the other side of the room. He stood next to the bed. He sat on the bed. He took off his hat and lay it down next to him. He reached for the phone. He picked up the receiver. He dialed the number. He stood up." etc. could get a tad bit wearisome. It was pretty close to the movie (been a long time since I've seen that, at least). In the evening, Mary Beth and I went up to Black Lodge for the Indie Memphis preview/unveiling of the lineup. So we got to see a whole string of trailers and I was getting excited about what they're playing. A lot of things look really good, but the one I got most excited about...The Cat Who Wore Sunglasses!!! (It gets translated into quite a few titles. The Cassandra Cat is what it's being called here. The Cat Who Wore Sunglasses is the title I first saw it described with. The most literally close to the original Czech seems to be When the Cat Comes.) I'd heard about this on the internet a little while back and really wanted to see it and at the time there didn't seem to be any good way aside from maybe tracking down some old vhs tapes (maybe there was an out-of-print dvd or something too, but whatever it was wasn't readily available and work to track down). Anyway, pumped that it's coming here and I get to not only see it but see it on a big screen! After it was over we came back home and went into a frenzy of going through the schedule and picking out our tickets! I had a little bit of conflict over some things I wanted to see, but not too bad. I think I only had to drop one major thing I wanted to see. And we'll be at Stevie Nicks on Saturday night and there wasn't anything major during that time either, so that's nice! Pretty excited about it all!
