Mary Beth and I had a fun day yesterday. I took the day off work so we could go and see this lunchtime performance of the Iris Collective out in Germantown. It was a string quartet tribute to Dvořák (with mostly his works but also a few influences and influenced bys). It was good! We got to see Otávio do his cello thing. We were almost late 'cuz when I looked up the directions, even though I put in "Germantown Community Theatre" it brought up "Germantown Community Library" and I didn't even realize it like a dummy. The dumb thing is is that it's the place I had originally thought it was but then the directions made me think it was something else. So the library and the theater are on completely different sides of Germantown, but luckily we were a little early and Germantown isn't that big so we still made it there on time. Walked into the library all, hm, I don't see anything about it here and asked the librarians where it was and knew it was a bad sign when I immediately saw their confused faces. But luckily they figured it out and we figured out where to go. But yeah, the music was nice and it was fun to see their enthusiastic bowing. After that we went and had lunch at Las Tortugas and it was delicious. Then we thought we might hang out in a park and went through Shelby Farms but we never really know where anything is there and before we knew it we were back out of the park, but on the way home we went to ol' reliable Overton Park instead. We first looked at the turtles in the pond and then spent a little time walking in the forest. Back home I got the Optic Sink: Glass Blocks cd in the mail. Anyway, there you have the tales of our fun adventure day!
