Right after that panel on women in the first wave of punk on Saturday, I went and ordered the book in question from Burke's: Hit Girls: Women of Punk in the USA | 1975-1983 by Jen B. Larson. Yesterday I got the notification that was ready for pickup so I went up to Burke's after work to get it. I also browsed around and picked up some used books: Brightfellow by Rikki Ducornet, My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante, A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka, Sophie's Choice by William Styron, You Shall Know Our Velocity! by Dave Eggers, and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke (I'd never been drawn to Eggers, but this one was just one dollar so I figured why the fuck not). Also talked to Kole up there for a good while. Their coworker Chloe said I looked familiar and then asked me if I played that show that was there and mentioned the Virginia Woolf (that was the show I had the four-track loaded with myself reading from her books) so hey, someone remembered something I did! (Well, at least I have Virginia Woolf to thank for that.)
