Phoenix or Ashes?

Yesterday The Family Ghost had our first practice in years and years and years. (Even that last one-off show we played we didn't practice for as a band beforehand.) Jack is sick right now so he wasn't able to make it which also means we've still never practiced with him as a band. But the rest of us were there and we worked on some stuff. Ryan didn't stay very long, but we worked on some things and then Jacques and I kept working out some more things after he left. It was new things we'd brought in. Jacques was upset because his sampler wasn't working, but we just did what we could with parts that could be done on guitar (he's using his Disco Inferno-inspired setup of midi pickup up guitar triggering samples). After Ryan left, Jacques happened to figure out a workaround to his sampler issue and then we did practice stuff with that. Also, while sitting around I figured out how to play "Hells Bells" (no, not for the band, just to make myself happy) though the individual pieces are easy I really can't play them together consecutively without fucking it up. One day?
