I got a couple cds in the mail yesterday: Pylon: Chomp More and Bailter Space: Robot World. In the afternoon I finished reading Thirteen Stories by Eudora Welty and it was good. Then Mary Beth and I went on a neighborhood walk (more playing with Cleo too!). At night I had a deployment. Mostly it seemed to work but looks like in one of the applications there's a bug where it doesn't work the first time it runs (well, it works but then finishes and marks itself complete and doesn't run again) but we manually reset it and then it ran again and didn't have the issue. I can look into that later since the first time is already complete now. Also, there's a second application that runs on a scheduler and someone in infra set the scheduler up in azure but it didn't run so that's something too. But it's all fine. Then I had a goofy dream last night I'll record. So Mary Beth and I were somewhere where William Gibson was giving a talk. I think there was some q&a with the audience and towards the end for some reason I got up to fill out a questionnaire form for him and left the room. While I was gone I could somehow tell that something happened and he had gotten into and argument with something and somehow I knew something along the lines of "turtles aren't Brutalist" was said and I agreed with it and thought how "yeah, they're really more Art Deco." And then when I came back I asked what had happened and was told that an audience member got into an argument with William Gibson and the audience member was saying turtles are Brutalist animals and William Gibson disagreed and said they were more Art Deco and then the person was belligerent and arguing with Gibson. I may have commiserated with him about my similar revelation but I'm not sure. Then later I was outside and the same belligerent person was arguing and yelling at me about something else to do with architecture (I don't remember what though). Then I wrote Gibson a letter about the person and tried to give it to him later but he didn't read it and just autographed it. There was also a part outside where I was skipping these weird-shaped rocks in some water and they'd skip in a circle back towards me like a boomerang. Okay, dreams!
