Cats and Works
Oct. 12th, 2022 06:18 pmA late-in-the-day post for me nowadays! Let's see, can I remember enough to recap? I got this cd in the mail yesterday: Capital Punishment: Roadkill. This is something I stumbled upon while getting into The Ben Stiller Show again recently. It's a band Ben was in as a teenager. And hearing that Ben Stiller had been in an "experimental punk" band raised my interest but didn't really give me confidence in-and-of itself. I could see that going in underwhelming directions, but I checked it out and was surprised by how good it was! It's its own thing but comparisons to Chrome are quite apt. So happy to have it and give it an even deeper listen. After work I went and picked Trudy up. She was very grouchy and hissed at me pretty fiercely at the vet. But she had done well. It took her a while for the wooziness to wear off but she was ravenous as hell and ate so much food, and immediately! What else? Mary Beth and I took a walk yesterday. We watched some Schitt's Creek. Then today I had to go into the office. The merger or acquisition or whatever happened. I now work for a British company with the weird name of Rentokil (though I guess now my part of it is Rentokil Terminix). Not really a lot from us being in the office. It went how that usually goes (pretty pointless), I mean, I know with the big day there's theoretically a point, but they didn't do a whole lot. There was a lunch (that was mismanaged and I had to stand around a bunch of people crowded around in vague unmoving lines until they opened it up). Then in the afternoon the ceos came in and we surprised them by being in that area but not a lot happened with it. They talked but you couldn't really hear anything. Mostly pointless. Though I did get to talk to Zach for a while. Then I came home and Mary Beth and I walked again! Gotta go back in tomorrow but hopefully it won't be a big deal.
