First thing to report in the day yesterday was receiving this book in the mail: Hogg by Samuel R Delaney (been trying to track it down for a little while! (I mean, not super hard, but I've had my eye out...)). Then after work I finished reading The Wall by Marlen Haushofer. It was quite good! It has a pretty unique form. I mean, it reads very much like a wilderness survival story, very straight and matter-of-fact but it's tucked in an absurd, kafkaesque premise (that mostly (mostly!) fades into the background). Also, a really big theme in it is relationships with animals. Then after that Mary Beth and I went on a walk and then it was time for me to go to the show!
So it was a collaborative set with Revenge Body, Ihcilon, and W1IND0W. Or I should say a series of three collaborative sets (each thirty minutes). I mean, given the lineup and the situation, how could it not be amazing!? And, of course, it was! It seemed like maybe each of the sets was themed or centered around one of the performers, I couldn't really tell so much from the sounds as they were all collaborating through all of it, but at least the video choices for each set makes me think so. Jacques picked for the first one The Duke of Burgundy. Jill had their own video footage that was kaleidoscoped. Paul had some Jan Švankmajer films. Anyway, yeah, the music was awesome. Can't wait to listen to the recording again! Oh, before it started and before anyone else arrived (and this was at Black Lodge) I played some some Basketball on the Magnavox Odyssey 2. This is a two-player game and I'm playing by myself. (Still managed to get some shots in for the opponent, the ball bounces around with some Pong-like physics, but not many.) Then Jack showed up and I talked to him a bit. Also talked to Karl between some of the sets. Fun night! Okay, that's it.
