I saw Kraftwerk again last night and it was really great and a whole lot of fun. Better than when I saw them back in 2015, I mean, it was probably the exact same set and visuals but something about the performance just seemed more...I don't know, exploratory, present, better? (It was good then too, but it was really grabbing me last night.) This also might be due to factors like the venue (the Ryman in Nashville is a cool venue but I think the Crosstown theater is better acoustically for someone like Kraftwerk and also, while the Ryman isn't huge, Crosstown is really small for a place to see someone like Kraftwerk!) and where I was sitting, back at the Ryman we had kinda crummy seats but last night...! Yeah, so I'm in the second row and it's off to one side, but that ends up being RIGHT in front of Ralf Hütter! And while I was second row, there wasn't anyone in the row in front of me. The only negative thing at all was there was a group of dude bros sitting to my left. They weren't egregious but slightly annoying, mostly talking before the show started. Then some overhead music came on and I got my earplugs in and I didn't even hear them much anymore. And when Kraftwerk started playing I'd only hear them talking through that (yeah, of course) a few times here and there when they got a little quieter. Anyway, really great show! Saw a ton of people I know, unsurprisingly. Talked to a bunch. Even saw that guy from Boston from the night before, when he'd asked about things going on "tomorrow" well, I let him know Kraftwerk was playing so anyone who'd be into electronic music would be there, but it was sold-out. But yesterday Crosstown announced more seats being opened so I sent him a message. Anyway, I'm rambling and it was a lot of fun.
