Yesterday I managed to get MOST of the things off my old hard drive. The last time I successfully used it before it crashed, I tried to open the folder where all of my musical recordings are (as in my personal musical recording of my own music), I think I got something about it being corrupted or something like that, and for the time being I created a new folder to work in (then the next time I used my computer the whole drive wouldn't function and and my computer wouldn't either). Okay, so at first it was the same as that time and I couldn't copy or open that folder. But I was able to go in the cli program and enter the folder but there were only a few files showing. I rescued those but it's a pretty tiny fraction of what should be in there. I'm now doing a deep scan and hopefully more files turn up (or if that doesn't work I'll try scanning for deleted files). Hopefully I can at least get some more of my music files, as that was the MAIN thing after all I was hoping to get out of my drive! We shall see, the deep scan seems to be going the same rate as the quick scan so I'll probably know in about four more days. Mary Beth and I spent the morning watching a good bit of Stranger Things. Then in the early afternoon I had a meeting with Patrick at his place downtown about some band he wants to put together. I like Patrick, but still not sure about how well I'll get along with the other guys who were there. We'll have a first practice in a few days and we'll see how it goes. Then I came back and Mary Beth and I finished the binge and finished the (part-) season of Stranger Things. Overall, it was pretty good. Quite a few things plot/action-wise were a bit over-the-top and a little ridiculous, but mostly still stick around for the characters I enjoy. I liked the way "Running up That Hill" was used almost as a character. And I liked the way it's played the first time when she's listening to it and then it's interrupted, but then when it comes back later it kind of picks up where the cassette left off (at least in movie-edit-time). And it's goofy but I got a little emotional about it, and I'm not sure why it's not even used that way, but still. In the evening we went for a walk around the neighborhood. I think that's about it for now.
