Yesterday I tried to take the car to get the a/c fixed. It was also right about due for an oil change so I thought I could do things quicker up at Valvoline. There was a line so I waited a good little while to get in, and when I finally got in they started with the oil change. When all that was done they had me move my car around to the side for the a/c recharge. It takes a while to complete so I guess they set it up like that not to block up the garage. So I'm waiting in the waiting room a good while and then finally get the word that there's a leak and it wasn't taking the freon. At least I wasn't charged for that part. I was pretty sure it might have a leak but thought it would at least last the year. That's what happened last year. Got a recharge at the beginning of the year, they told me I might have to come back if it ran out but it did last throughout the year until it got cold, and now that it's warm again it's out. But I guess the leak got worse. So I'll have to try again another day and get that fixed. Later at night Mary Beth and I watched some Kids in the Hall. Then we went outside to watch the lunar eclipse. It started off very cloudy but the moon was bright and you could see its hazy shape blaring through the clouds. It felt good outside so figured we'd at least see what we could see. And even through the clouds you could making out what was going on. And the best part is that as the moon got smaller and smaller, the clouds started to dissipate and by the time the light was getting to the edge the sky was clear. It was pretty fascinating to see. I mean, of course you see the moon in different sizes during its phases but the shape was different, making this kind of uncanny valley moon. And especially as it got towards the very end and started to turn into this small nub, not curving fully along the side, but only a smaller and smaller piece. We waited and talked til it came back around. It took a little while, I mean, the whole thing started late but not crazy-crazy late but still a little late-for-me. I think we started watching around 9:30 and were back in probably a little after midnight. It was fun, now gotta work.
