MY "STUDIO" WORKS!!!

woohoo! i could fucking ejaculate right now! tonight i finally got around to replacing those two switches in the mixer...including the fun task of soldering...i was worried more was damaged, as it had been apart for a really long time...but it's all good...i did have a bit of an accident w/ the soldering iron though...there's now a pretty big blister on the top of my right middle finger...it's not as bad as it could've been...upon boobooing myself, i immediately went to the bathroom and ran cold water over it for a good while...it kind've has a funny shape...but anyway...i went back to trying to see if the recorder and mixer would work together...i was trying w/ the guitar in track two for forever and nothing was happening...finally, just now i switched to another track (this tape has some stuff on it already...some weird christian sermoning/folk->bad funkish stuff...i didn't wanna record over one of the tracks in use 'cuz it's pretty funny...but i guess i'll have to record over it all anyway if i'm gonna use it for my music...) well, it recorded just fine on another track...so it works! except track 2...it came through while i was playing...the level lights on the recorder were even showing up...i don't know why it isn't recording on that track...i wonder if there are any others...but needless to say, i'm terribly happy about this...so at least some of the equipment i've sunk a large amount of money into is working...(and even if track 2 isn't working right, there're 15 others, and maybe i can get that fixed if need be...) as soon as the band starts PRACTICING again we can record! (as well as fucking play shows again...) damn i'm feeling good now...

it's my last day at FedEx in a few hours...i've been up all night, but then again, i've only been up since night...my sleep schedule's all wack...and it's gonna suck tomorrow 'cuz i work at Camy's right after FedEx...

amen! i've been having tons of rad studio-work ideas...i can't wait to use 'em...although our current roster of songs'll prob'ly do best w/ more of a live sound...but that just means the fun recording stuff should be more subtle...;) (awww...isn't that cute?) actually, my thoughts lately have been that we could prob'ly even surpass the demo idea...like "hey, Touch & Go, this is our album...put it out! ...please...w/ sugar on top...what did you say? go? you mean 'go straight to the pressing plant?' huh? woah? like 'woah! this album rules?' you didn't just call me a hoe did you? throw what? a party for the new album you're going to release? show? like we should play a show for promotion? pro? like 'we're pros'? grow? i'm sorry record label ppl...you're just not making any sense...why is Steve Albini threatening to chase us out into the street w/ that baseball bat? oooh...well you should've spoken more clearly then!" (the joke being that they said "no" 'cuz they rejected our shitty album, but we didn't wanna her that so we thought they said other stuff...hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!)

or kranky will be about to sign us, and low will be like "oh, god. those memphis guys are annoying. and we can't get away from them when we tour. if you sign them, we leave the label." then the wrath of the grand mormono will be upon us. yeah.

hah! either that, or just as we're getting signed we start going off about the boners we have...hour-long speeches about our boners...which then morph into hour-long jokes about mansex...and the universal-power of "man" as a prefix...then Brad lets out w/ the downforce and it's all over for The Family Ghost...
