Some Stuff

Made a slightly sad discovery about my santaing this year. So even though they were showing up on the vendor's website, both the books I had picked for my santee this year ended up being not available (it's an independent bookstore and they later had up a notice of stock changing a lot right now so things might not actually be available that say they are). So they went with other suggestions and mine were null and void (they were Andrea Barrett and Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, for the sake of whatever). Got some mail yesterday: Dave Brubeck: For All Time box set. They came and took the car away. So now we are officially a single car household (I mean, technically we had been anyway since it hadn't been street-drivable with the whole unreliable brakes and all). Had kind of a crummy day feeling like every little thing I was doing was shitty in some way at work. Well, hopefully I was just in a funk, mood-wise. Later at night Mary Beth and I watched a bunch of Nora from Queens and enjoyed it. Now today is the last in my series of Fridays off (I mean, there are two more built-in holidays but of course I'm talking about the vacation days). Anyway, now I'd better go enjoy it!
