So in covid times I've had this (almost) daily ritual of spending time out in my car listening to music and reading in it. Today, I took this ritual with Mary Beth to the park and did my reading there while she walked. Coming back I started noticing funny behavior with my brakes. The feel and amount of pressure I needed to use to stop was changing. At a point the dash light came on for my brakes. I checked and the brake fluid level was low to empty. So I took the other car to pick up some brake fluid. Not sure if it's a leak or what, but I refilled it and it at least didn't immediately all drain out. I'll see if it's holding and works properly. Last night Mary Beth and I played another game of Ticket to Ride. Now it's back to work and it's back to being quite a cold morning this morning.

Usually when that happens to me it means fluid is leaking out of one of the disc calipers.

It’s what makes the brake pads clamp on the rotor. I’m not sure about cost. I have never had one replaced by a shop before. I replaced one on my Jetta like, 15 years ago. The part was cheap. It’s also what made me realize that I suck at brakes. :)
