Mary Beth and I went out to my parents' for the Christmas thing. First we met my dad at church (we were the only other ones who made it to that). A couple of observations as someone who hasn't done that in a good long while: it's weird that they don't respond to "peace be with you" with "and also with you" anymore, they say something else about a spirit now, and that change could have been made like anytime in the past two decades or whatever so it could very well be an "old" change but whatever; kneeling in the kneelers feels way more uncomfortable than it used to, not sure if that's 'cuz I'm fatter or just unused to it or what. We went over to my parents' house after that. Everyone else was just waking up. There was the Christmas thing. I'd already gotten my present (the new phone) but I did finally get the box it came in that has a cable and even a pair of usb-c headphones. The boys were a joy to hang out and play with as usual. Anthony had gotten these beyblades (or something like that) and Jason was being kid-hipster saying that they were much better back in his day and these new ones aren't any good (to be fair, they had to be some of the shoddiest barely working pieces I've seen in a while). Anthony was an unending, screaming ball of energy. That was fun. We got home in the evening. We'd gotten some things from Mary Beth's parents, like a Blockbuster game that's packaged like an old vhs case. We also got gift cards for The Strand so I spent some time figuring out what books I'd want to order and ordering them! I went back in to work today. Once again almost no one was there. I did more trailheads til after lunch and now I'm home!
