I think I wrapped up my work on the Luigi Russolo tribute thingie last night. Mostly just compressing individual tracks and tweaking volumes and such and a few sequential nudges here and there. Then Mary Beth and I went up to the Cmplx to see some Indie Memphis-related screenings. It was themed around black women and they first showed a few shorts by a couple local artists, followed by a panel. The shorts were good, one of the artists' were funny and I liked the abstractions in the other's. This all was followed by a screening of Pariah, which I had never seen but was very good. Then there was work today. It's a Friday and it went like a Friday. They did the quarterly "birthday" recognition thing so I got to have some shitty nachos from a nacho cheese machine (I say "shitty" somewhat endearingly). Now I'm home, there you have it!

Date: 2019-07-27 03:20 am (UTC)I remember reading about an instrument he made, and how Mike Patton has one... (not sure if actually one that Russolo made/owned or just that type of instrument). I know there's a video online of Patton playing with it.
I have Pranzo Oltranzista... speaking of, I should check that out again, it's been ages since I listened. I think now that I'm older I can probably appreciate it more than when I bought it.
What sort of thing are you doing for the tribute?
