And Friends
Jan. 26th, 2019 11:45 amAt the start of the evening, Mary Beth and I caught up on the latest episodes of The Good Place and Brooklyn 99 (it's a good Friday tradition, I guess! though looks like we're at the end of The Good Place's current season). Then I went out to a show, Alyssa's birthday party show thing at the Hi-Tone. I got out a little late due to aforementioned electrical problems with my car. But then I figured out what it was, which I should have more quickly since it's the same thing that happened before! That fuse that I replace and janked up when bending out the arm-thingies got loose again. I mean, I'm sure this will be something that will just happen every few months as my car vibrates it into a bad position again. I should probably just replace it again, I mean, it was somewhere in the range of ten dollars if that. No sense in keeping a dumb little timebomb in there. But I got it in better working order and went out to the show. I missed the first band. I did catch the two bands Risky Whispers and Native Blood. Neither was my thing at all. Both just different types of metalish hard rock and pretty bland. Alyssa and Friends was good, I haven't seen her play her solo stuff with a full band. At one point a guy came up to do a country song with them and I wasn't super into that, but after that there was a little Strengths reunion for a couple songs and that ruled, then the Alyssa and Friends lineup came back on to close it out. It was all good and worth the wait. Jacques was up there and I talked to him a bit. Now it's a new day, yup.
