Last night Mary Beth went up to Crosstown for an Indie Memphis talk on making movies on a budget. I walked across the street to the Hi-Tone before it was over to catch a show where a bunch of people I know were playing. It was something of a "songwriters" showcase. Jacques, Ryan, and Mike Hewlett played (among others). So caught up with them and some folks. Then there was work today. My mom had mentioned getting dinner tonight but then I didn't hear from her when I tried to get details so figured it was off. Even contacted my dad and he had some scout meeting to go to. Well, I get a message from my mom at 6:45 asking if we want to meet at 7... She was already driving out. By this point dinner was being made and we wouldn't've been able to meet her for food, but she came by with Jason and Anthony and we hung out for a little bit. In between all this I was fixing my car. On the way to the events yesterday, I picked up the little rubber piece that was the original cause of all my woes. It's what keeps the brake light from triggering on and it goes on the pedal. The old one had fallen apart. It was the easiest thing to put back in, but unfortunately it did the damage and killed my batter. So I went and got a new battery. But power still wasn't happening. I checked and one of the fuses was blown. So after my mom's visit I went back and got the replacement fuse. And with that my car is working again! All that was left was to reprogram my stereo back on. When this had happened in the past, I always ended up calling a dealership to get the code. Always seems like I've written it down at some point but can never find it. Well, this time the internet came through for me and I was able to get it back on. So, hooray! As late as it is and given that I've just finished, I was not able to get my exercise in for today. Ah well.
