I watched Broadcast News last night and it was pretty good. I definitely appreciated a lot of what it was doing and the end was pretty great. Woke up this morning to some brown water coming out of the faucets. Actually, didn't really realize what was going on til after my shower. Nice. But it seems to be fading away. The cold water is perfectly clear now (which is where it started). I went out to the ymca to see about a membership now that I'm about to have a raise, but they wouldn't waive the joining fee and I figure it's not really worth it right now 'cuz they always seem to have a promotion period at some point where it's free and maybe I can join a cheaper gym in the interim. Then Mary Beth and I went up to Shangri La for their Purgefest, where they have a huge sale on everything and some bands playing outside. We came to hear Billie Dove. First I went inside and picked up a bunch of awesome shit: The Hafler Trio: A Thirsty Fish, Roedelius: Jardin au Fou, Labradford: s/t, U.S. Maple: Long Hair in Three Stages, Stereolab: Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements, and Seun Kuti & Egypt 80: From Africa with Fury: Rise. Later I saw the outside bin with $1 cds (though the U.S. Maple was a dollar, how the fuck about that?) so I checked it out and found some more stuff!: Jeremy Boyle: Songs from the Guitar Solos, Cranes: Loved, Flying Saucer Attack: Instrumentals 2015, and Matmos: s/t. A pretty awesome goddamn day for finds!
