Friday night Mary Beth and I picked up Jacques and we went to see Jodorowsky's Dune at the Ridgeway theater. It was enjoyable as hell. Another rare documentary outing the next day as we accompanied Jacques to the Brooks to see The Unknown Known (the Rumsfeld documentary). That one was pretty good, but it didn't really leave much of an impression. Afterwards back here where we worked on some mastering stuff. Ryan came over. I guess it was mostly them sitting around as I messed with tedious waveform adjustments on my laptop. Watched some stuff with Mary Beth, like the Kathleen Hannah documentary. Passed out on the couch kinda early as usual and still slept in kinda late on Sunday as usual. Today was my turn to be a test administrator. I was administering the English II test. It went pretty well. Although before it began, a few kids were playing around a little bit, nothing too bad, but Mr. Poe came in the room and threatened them and used the phrase "jibber jabber" which, of course, sent them further out of control than they'd been. He did realize he was doing more harm than good and left (can't blame 'em too much, I had to hold back a smile myself when he said that). And when things got underway they were very well behaved. The worst thing was a few kids kept wanting to sleep (even after repeatedly waking them up). Three of 'em I had to make go to the bathroom so they'd get up and walk and wake themselves up. That seemed to work. For the most part, it was just standing there for three hours not doing anything (couldn't use any electronic devices). Outside of that, not too much else now. I got The Residents: The Third Reich 'n Roll in the mail today. Finally! After this damn thing for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS and finally came across the version with bonus tracks (passed up so many other versions for so long). Probably weird that up til now I hadn't had ANY Residents stuff. Wrapping up writing my resume. Whew! Hope I finish soon.
