ateolfay...now to catch back up on a few days...
wednesday: banned myself from the internet so i could concentrate on getting my spanish presentation ready...went to class in the morning, went back home and took a nap...went up to the library to get some stuff on my topic...i was having trouble finding anything too terribly related, but at 4:30 or so i left to get back home so i could watch The Simpsons...(i'm a sick sick man...) then after a little i went back to the library to look over some stuff again...and it turns out that one of the articles i briefly glanced at and then put aside because i didn't think it was relevant was quite relevant...so i copied that and went home and prepared a nice little presentation thingie (i wrote out what i was going to say verbatum...and then i was just gonna read from my paper...not the best way, but w/ my spanish oratory skills, i don't have much else in the way of options for doing a speech...) went to bed like 3:30 or so...
thursday: went to spanish class...we watched the rest of that documentary thingie...(pretty cool, as it mocked the whole machismo thing and portrayed men as scum and whatnot...and although it was a lot more subtle and sparse, it did show that women are guilty as well in making the whole love-marriage-relationship thing the big pile of shit that it is...(my own insight added...)) and the class did NOT involve me giving my presentation...when it was over she mentioned someone else doing theirs next thursday and me doing mine tuesday...i wish i had known that beforehand...so i could've used wed evening to do the physics and calc hw i had for today...but i guess i've got it ready now for tuesday...hopefully i'll get around to doing a few improvements...although w/ how lazy i am...bah...but at least tuesday i won't be up so late preparing my presentation (as it was previously prepared) so i won't be so tired...went home and napped...i slept longer than i had planned so i didn't have as much time to do my hw as i had planned...but i started looking at the physics whilst getting a little frustrated...but then i had to go to class...afterwards went over to The Apartment...sat around a while and then it was time to go to the show...(The New Year):
they were REALLY good...Jacques got the first Bedhead 7" that he has (a bit of a rare gem) autographed by the Kadane brothers...they're really nice folks...Lucero (a local group that i hadn't heard before) opened...they suck...all country rock...the singer all sounds like he's trying to be John Mellencamp or something...but then The New Year played...oooh! very intense stuff...there were 6 fucking ppl on stage...drums, bass, and mostly 4 guitars...although one of the guitarists played keyboard some (and a shaker on song...) but there was a lot of tacit (the musical term for sitting down and not playing anything...having been a concert percussionist, i am quite familiar w/ this term...) but it usually came around to everyone playing everything in a big buildup at some part or another in the song...very amazing...they did one Bedhead song "The Dark Ages"...i still don't have that ep...i need it...that and this new song that wasn't on The New Year's album (Newness Ends, which i also need...) were the highlights...great songs...it sucked 'cuz most of the ppl that were there for the beginning of the show while Lucero was playing (which wasn't that many anyways) left by the time the real band came on...or shortly thereafter...so it was another case of an amazing band playing an amazing show to little more than 10 ppl...and they played a really short set too...and no encore...it was prob'ly like a half hour...Jacques got their setlist and there were even two songs or so that were written down that they didn't play...oh well...afterwards Jacques talked to Matt and Bubba Kadane briefly again...and while we were in my car, about to drive off, Matt Kadane and the bassist walked by and Matt waved at us which was extremely cool...another amusing thing: before the show, when Jacques first went to get the autograph from Matt, he first talked to the bassist and asked him if he was Matt Kadane...and he was like no that's him right there or something...then Jacques told him he didn't recognize him w/out the beard and Matt said that he hears that from a lot of ppl...heh...but Bubba's still true beardcore...after the show we (Jacques, Amber, and i) went to the Pancake Shop and i started picking back up on my physics hw there...and after much frustration managed to get the problem i had been stuck on finished...back to The Apartment where i finished my physics hw (in the kitchen 'cuz the lightbulb in the living room isn't powerfull enough to power my calculator for some reason...) then i started on my calculus homework but by this point i was really tired and having much problems...the assignment was over double integrals in polar coordinates...and for the certain problems, i was able to set up the boundaries, but i couldn't figure out the equation i was supposed to integrate over...blah! and as it had become 5:30 am and was becoming extremely tired and delusional, i decided to just "fuck it" and went to sleep on the couch there (David's dad had just given them some new furniture and the new couch is sooo comfortable...a nice change from the two previous couches...one w/ the big wooden bar in the middle and the other that just saggs down all funny...they were set up yesterday, actually, just in time for me! how thoughtful...) and set my alarm to miss calculus and just get to physics...
today: didn't wake up when my alarm went off...at one point i jerked up, looked at the clock and saw that it was 9:15...5 min after my physics class had started...doh! so i jumped up and grabbed all my crap and rushed to class as fast as i could...i guess i missed about half of it, but when i got there, they were still doing the homework/quiz so i guess i made it just in time...and having done the homework, and knowing that particular problem, i know i got another 10 on that quiz...good...i've been on a roll...and by know i've beaten my lowest test grade...not by much...but i'm on the road to getting a pretty decent grade in there...then i went home and back to sleep...i set my alarm for 4:55 so i could catch The Simpsons...but i didn't wake up...and to top it off, i just woke up on my own just after 5:30...JUST missing The Simpsons...i can't wake up in time for The Simpsons, but i half an hour later i'm fine!? that sucks my anus! oh well...now i guess i'm done catching up w/ this lj crap...must soon get to working on my damned operating systems crap that's sooo late...
oh yea...i videotaped The New Year show too...that's all...just thought i should throw that in...
