more work on invitations yesterday and then we went to see this poetry reading at Davis Kidd...the guy we went to see being Brett who we sort of know from the electrical board...Jacques and Amber (actually Jacques is the one who told me about it) showed up too...i don't think i was in love with the poetry itself...there were moments, but...maybe it was just his way of speaking it, in that beatnik cadence and rise in pitch at the end of the lines that pushed me away...then the other guy that read was this old dude with all his old friends and family to see him and he was pretty bad...mostly i couldn't even pay attnetion enough to know what was going on (his soft voice and no microphone didn't help my attention either) but the last poem and one that i heard the most of was one of the worst things ever...in the middle of his reading i got a call from Justin and he won't be able to make it to the wedding which is a bummer but sort of expected...stupid doctors...anyway, after the reading we ended up taking Brett to Pho Saigon (and i got to try the new vietnamese sandwiches!) so we hung out a while and talked and stuff and he was a lot of fun to hang out with...as we were leaving he suggested breakfast so today we got up early and had breakfast with him at Brother Juniper...oh, but uh, there was more adventure as Jacques's car had broken down at Davis Kidd after the reading and i took 'em back to try to jump it but it made a horrible noise when he tried to start it so we ended up pushing it to sears which is in the same parking lot (the same very large parking lot) that got my heart a'jumpin'!...anyway then this morning, Mary Beth and i got there a little early as i had to go to work and knew we'd be waiting i wanted to get the waiting over as soon as possible as i had to work today...so he showed up as did Jacques and Amber and there was more hanging out and eating and jolly fun...i split when it was time to go to work of course...at work today i finished reading both Larva: Midsummer Night's Babel by Julián Ríos and A Year with Swollen Appendices by Brian Eno...and i guess that's about it...
