last night Mary Beth and i were out walking when she got a text from Matt requesting our presence at yosemite sam's for karaoke...now i'd given up on ever going there ever again, but we were out and around anyway so why not and at first i wasn't gonna sing about after we were there for a while i decided what the hell so i sang "Don't Stop Believin'" and pissed a bunch of people off so it was nice...when this table saw what i was singing they were all exciting like woo! yeah, this song! and one told me not to fuck it up...so i proceded to butcher the hell out of it...and that table tried to outsing me but i've got the mic...and besides that i know the trick of if you sing more off you'll stand out more...and especially if you sing more off tempo so their singing doesn't even match mine to cover it up! it's beautiful really...well now i'm off work again...just feels weird, but whatever...

hah! that was awesome too! wait, i think i got the gong during "Stairway to Heaven"...i did 'em both that same night...Stairway gave 'em more time to run to the kitchen to get the prop...i think David said that rendition of "Immigrant Song" was the best karaoke he'd ever seen...don't know if that still stands though...all proud moments for me...

It was definitely one of the most memorable moments. I love how personally everyone took it that you didn't know how to sing Immigrant Song properly and didn't care to try. Everyone was so mad!

Also, when are you getting married? I found out the dates I will be in Memphis for Goner Fest- September 24-27.

awesome! the date is set for the 26th! so you should come if you're able...i should get your address so we can send you an invitation, etc when we get around to doing that stuff...

...and it's a shame i'll never be able to sing "Immigrant Song" the same again, as now i know how it goes...i'm sure i can still do a fine job of it, but you can never recapture that innocence with false ignorance, oh well, we'll always have our memories...
