last night after work Mary Beth and i went on a wild chase for shoes...i normally buy 'em online but with my current pair on the cusp of falling apart (not quite there yet) i thought i'd be best to get some before the trip and i'm driving a whole bunch and don't wanna risk being uncomfortable...i might could get 'em shipped in time but didn't wanna risk it...i don't get off work til 8 and that didn't give us much time and i didn't have any luck...maybe i can find some today before the wedding...anyway, later we went up to Reedmeister's for some karaoke...it was pretty sweet...i got to do quite a few songs (their selection's actually relatively good): "Living for the City," "Psycho Killer," "Heroes," and "Sex Machine"...i thought "Sex Machine" was going to be a disaster...i did not think i'd be competent to pull off James Brown in the slightest...but it was actually pretty awesome...actually i think James Brown may be good for me 'cuz his singing (like most every instrument in his songs) is rhythmic and not melodic...so just screaming worked pretty well...and everyone there actually liked it...i felt a little good about myself (especially seeing as how i thought i was just gonna fall flat and embarass myself...as i'm no "soul"ful person...i just love James Brown and yelling...) so my car's in the shop right now getting some maintenance before our trip...actually it's been ready for over an hour...i made my appointment for 8 am and after crawling over there and dropping it off we went right back to sleep...now that it's ready and we're up we're actually getting ready and stuff first...anyway...
