yesterday while out east Mary Beth and i (after delicious food at chang's) stopped by hastings...i know i shouldn't've bought more used books but it was boredom (a few were ones i passed up last time i was there): Rashomon and Other Stories by Ryunosuke Akutagawa (not the collection i just read, this one only has two stories in common, obviously the one that lends the title among them...and a different translator too...), Life & Times of Michael K by J. M. Coetzee, A Pale View of Hills by Kazuo Ishiguro, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, The Divine Invasion by Philip K. Dick, and By Its Cover: Modern American Book Cover Design by Ned Drew and Paul Sternberger...and today, saturday, was my monday...i finished reading Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi...i think The Bitter Tears may have made fun of us in their tour blog? i'm mostly confused by the comment about pointy guitars...all our stringed instruments have nice rounded bodies...the closest thing i could think of is describing them aurally (like "pointy" somehow recalling "pointillism") but i don't think that's it...he did say i have a great record collection...i have that going for me, that and phantasmagoric pointy guitars...
