Mary Beth and i went to that newish used bookstore down the street yesterday...i picked up: Willard and His Bowling Trophies by Richard Brautigan, Smilla's Sense of Snow by Peter Høeg, The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde, A Way in the World by V. S. Naipaul, Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T. E. Lawrence, The Four-Gated City by Doris Lessing, The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann, and The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury...at night Jacques, Brad, Jason, and i went to the Lamplighter...we played a few very bad games of pool...much more fun when everyone plays badly with isolated moments playing well...i even had a few moments myself...but my best shot was the one that had me laughing uncontrollably for some reason...where i completely missed the ball i was aiming for and sent the cue straight into the pocket...no bouncing, just straight in with precision...it doesn't sound funny to read, but it was pretty great at the time...to finish the evening with tired, erotic photo hunt...i also had a nice $1.75 can of coke...this weekend i read Willard and His Bowling Trophies and i think that's about it for now...
