ateolfthe Zombi show last night was good in spite of some problems...i had heard something of The Apes opening (a band i saw opening for Trans Am in the past that was just fucking terrible) but instead it was some other band called Midnite Snake...they were quite good...a bit metal but in a noisy way...they vaguely reminded me of MX-80...i was a little worried when i saw Zombi set up and they had only one synth hooked up to a laptop between the two...that's like 4 synths less than usual...they introduced the set saying they'd be playing pared down due to technical problems...but my misgivings were blown away when they played...they were fucking awesome! they did this one long build-up type song...starting off more droney and arhythmic and slowly building up into a total rock-fest...after a while the guitarist from Midnite Snake came on and played with 'em...when we talked to 'em afterwards they said it was the first time they'd ever played with a guitar! then after that wsa over they said they were going to play one more (presumably another long song) but then the power went out for a second and after it came back on the synth no longer would...apparently the surge blew a fuse or something like that so they had to stop early as well...kinda felt bad for 'em with all the equipment problems they seem to be having...but what they did manage to play was fucking incredible...i got some merch:

also Jamie was at the show last night...she arrived between bands...i talked to her briefly but she met some friends (one of whom i presume is the boyfriend...) eh...this week at work i'm guruing some guy...though today while he was with me he was just doublejacking and will start taking actual calls tomorrow...anyway, the point is between calls i'd pick up my book to read some and he'd start talking to me...not just about work-related stuff which is fine, but he'd start talking about his personal life blah blah blah as soon as i'm opening my damned book...i don't know the guy! can't he see i'm trying to read? and of course if i were to have said something like "don't talk to me i'm trying to read" *I* would be the asshole...i mean, he seems like a nice guy or whatever...but it's true that i would rather read than talk to someone i don't know about random crap...anyway...
