sunday evening The Family Ghost practiced briefly...then later was the Zombi show at the hi-tone...it was a very good show...Epoch of Unlight opened and they rotated between very funny and very boring...neither one intentional...they're just this local cock band that's been around forever...nice booking decision, hi-tone...but Zombi was great...i picked up some merch: Zombi: The Zombi Anthology, a t-shirt, and these two rad-looking posters...then i got up early to go to work but it was a holiday and i did a lot of reading...

then was our show...some band called Hot Hot Rod Hillbillies got put on the bill without our knowledge, fortunately they never showed up...the band we did play with (This Is a Process of a Still Life from Missoula, MT) was good...instrumental...very post-rock, very much along the lines of Mogwai and Godspeed, but less rocking parts...they apparently know some people from the area...i was i had known they brought more damn people to the show than we did when decided who would play when...otherwise i sure fucking would have had us play first...oh well...eventually we went on to play to the three or so people left (and like half of the other band...) our set was:
Taken
Homage
Phantom Limb
Like Clockwork
Placeholder
i got some of the other guys' merch: This Is a Process of a Still Life: s/t, This Is a Process of a Still Life: Light, and a shirt...and i got to bed even later, of course...so today at work was some fun barely awakeness...but i made it through alright...uh, the end...
p.s.
i think someone's moving in upstairs...hrm...

i like how theres a like, redneck element to shows down there. like some hillbilly band is just inevitably going to be added to the bill.

and also, like i know you guys were quite far from new orleans and all but its good to know no harm has befallen y'all...

well thank you...the worst we got was power/cable outages (well, i speak for myself personally)...so nothing to complain about over here...that storm from 2 years ago that left me very briefly somewhat homeless suddenly feels like pleasant day in comparison...

this other band that didn't show up was from texas...shit one show two months ago we played with this band called Zydepunks (though they had the date first, we were just needing a show that date for the touring band we were helping out)...the name is very descriptive of their sound...they were from new orleans...i hadn't thought about them...their music was crap but they were nice...i hope they were on tour or something...
