so in a couple months i will no longer be an mci employee...instead i'll be employed by vCustomer...uh, i think that's what they called it...hopefully it won't mean a whole lot...but mci's selling off a couple parts of itself one of them being relay...and everyone's being "offered" their same ("or similar") position so at least i have a job for the time being...now what i know about this company is that until now (while based in seattle) all of their work has been with outsourced centers in india, etc...but of course this will be their first call cents of the relay variety...supposedly they're wanting to expand their domain in the united states, but the natural suspicion is they're gonna take over this other thing they couldn't start up cold overseas, figure out how it works, then once they've got it figured out transplant it over to india, etc...but then again since there's some contract or whatever with the government and relay's all tied up with the fcc and deaf activists or whatever maybe they wouldn't be able to anyway...i don't know...even if they do plan on shifting this overseas i imagine there'd be at least a year or so before anything like that could take place...so i guess i've got some time to wait and see...but yeah there was a lame meeting at work today where we same a lame video about this and i guess we were told the news...the talk is that this should be "seamless" it'd better be...fuckin' homos...oh well...i went grocery shoppin' on my way home tonight...that's all the news i have...

I feel pretty positive that they just want the software and all that shit and then move the jobs to India. But whatever. It's not being a relay drone was the fulfillment of my life's dream.

nor mine...but it has nice hours...and i get to read (most of the time)...that's all i want out of a job...can't see finding it too much elsewhere...

Yeah, I doubt I'd be able to find a job that required as little actual "work" as this one does. I'm pretty lazy, so that's a priority.

seriously, i measure my "success" at work in how much reading i've gotten done...bad vs. good days are generally measured in pages...(of course with the exception of a really bad call should that happen to factor in...or even rarer a really good call, like an hco or something...) if this job stops happening my reading will suffer...that's why i like this job...two birds with one stone...the bulk of my reading goes right along with the whole making a living thing...oh yeah, and then there's no responsiblity to go along with this job AT ALL! when i'm not at work i'm free to think about all the things i should be doing but am too lazy to do anyway like music and writing...if i had a job that actually required something of me other than (primarily) just being there i can't even begin to imagine how counterproductive my life would be...aargh!
