let's see here...friday: class -> The Apartment...attempt at covering the cover ("I Don't Want to Push It"-SY) was attempted; however, my little Casio that could decided that it no longer wished to turn on...at all...it will not get any power whatsoever...this has happened before and i've fixed it, hopefully i'll be able to do so again...now, this is of consequence because said Casio was being used to supply the song's drum track (run through very fast delay to give it a bit of a buzzy sound...it worked out quite nice...when it worked...) this caused me to be *extraordinarily* pissed off...and i was out of sorts for most of the remainder of the evening, though my usual self started to seep through after a while and in patches...David came home and Brad came over going out was acheived...we went to Beale Street...(we being the aforementioned two and the usual band dudes: Jacques, Justin H., and myself...) everyone but me drank...as i don't drink...oi! or something...it was the usual Jacques in public "witty" bantor/obnoxious whining about hating frat boys and wanting to stomp their ballz in a fight/with broken glass...(just joking, Jacques...but i still can't help but seeing a bit of the humorous irony in that...) i mostly just played the part of the passive observer, indifferent to the entire thing...we then went to go to this other bar, but they were charging a cover...all of us having to urinate and not being able to get in, we urinated in this large alley/small empty lot next to the place...as we were in the process this chick happened by and laughed at us...(not a mean laugh, though) then when David, Brad, and i walked out she apologized for laughing, but David said it was okay and struck up a very brief bit of conversation w/ her...we then went to the Young Avenue Deli...one of Memphis' places of indierock...or something...it has a good jukebox, w/ some VU, John Zorn and other such goodies (as U2, Pixies, Elvis Costello...) we played pool for a while there 'til it closed (3am)...not too much went down...not a large crowd of indie chicks that i could woo w/ my Modest Mouse shirt (man, i'm pathetic...[cry] that's me being emo, in reflection of the shirt...or something...) the rest ate at Krystals, but i was tired and not hungry so i waited in my car while they got their food...back to the apartment where we started to watch this movie Alien Prey...but everyone went to sleep...Justin went home...when Jacques went to bed i didn't even feel like getting up to turn the tv off (there was a bunch of gear in my way too...) so i just tried to sleep around it...but i couldn't and i ended up watching the whole thing...between feeble attempts at attempting to fall asleep...the movie wasn't horrible...although the end was, but funny too so i guess it's okay...it's sort of horror, but slow and actually more plot driven...it's all 70s core and brittish, which is a plus 'cuz 70s brittish movies look really cool...there's even this part where they (two lesbians living out in a large house in the middle of nowehere together) dress the alien in drag for this "party"...(they don't know he's an alien, he's trying to act like a human to find out more about the planet (what to eat, which, of course, ends up being ppl...)) there's also quite the exceptionally good lesbian scene...(i don't care, i'm human...) i eventually fell asleep after it was over...prob'ly around 5 or something like that...Brad slept half on/off the other couch the whole time...

today: woke up around 11:30 or so...all "ugh" and still am a good bit...Brad got up and left at some point before this...we (David, Jacques, and i) ate at the Sub Shop (as a side note, we ate at Fino's yesterday...) David went to work...i attempted at devising several alternate methods for having some sort of drums happening for our cover...i eventually programmed this drum thing on David's computer (AudioMulch), it somehow manages to sound really cool (i think, anyhow...it impressed me and, well, that's something i guess...) i recorded it out to my tape recorder to have that playing into an amp for the cover (as the computer is in the other room)...however, something happened to cause it to stop recording for a second or so when it was recording so the tape jumps and that caused the whole rhythm to screw up, in turn screwing up our cover for yet another week...grrr...i'm pretty distressed about that...well, very...but what can you do? but this does give me time to realize some of the flaws w/ the recording process and adjustments that can be made, as i've thought of a few improvements to be had this evening since...so...i guess that leaves me here...back home and feeling icky from not having bathed/brushed my teeth since yesterday morning...my dogs missed me while i was gone, too...i guess that's all i have to say for now, aside from one more thing...

p.s. (pointless sidenote)
Thursday night, on the way home, i stopped by Sessils to pick up some dog food and milk...there was this attractive girl in front of me in line and i was feeling stupid for not being able to talk to her and all (the usual nerd shite)...she apparently works at some other Sessils 'cuz she started talking to lady at the register...then they started talking about the SCA...i felt largely better about the whole thing...(so you must know, the SCA is not my thing...if it's someone else's thing, more power to them or whatever...but it's most definately not my thing...) then when i was being checked out the lady was like "that's the newest member of the SCA, you know, the crazy ppl who have battles in the park?" and i was just like "i know..." and as an odd coincidence of sorts, i saw that very chick walking past us on Beale Street the next night right as we got there...it's pointless yes, but...i dunno...in comparison to the normal triviality of my life, it's of some interest, sadly enough...NOW i'm finally done...

well...Peter Hook would have his fist in the guy's arse faster than he could say all that...but Ian Curtis would cry about it, and isn't he the man you've been modeling you're whole life after?
