Yesterday was a day filled with meetings (mostly one long "working session") at work. After work Mary Beth and I went on yet another walk. The weather had gotten cooler, almost cold but the walk was enjoyable, when zipped up. I got some cds in the mail: Rorquals: Immerse / Release, Rorquals: Remind Yourself to Breathe, Rorquals: Freedom in Isolation, and Rorquals: s/t. So, I saw this Rorquals play a little while back on this Courier Records live stream show. He played right after Belly Full of Stars and his set was really good so I checked out the merch and had the three albums above as a bundle pack. Anyway, He included a long note about how excited he was that his music made it all the way to Memphis and that's the farthest it's been (he's in England) and the last cd (the one I called s/t) is just an extra cd he threw in with a bunch of stuff that's available just digitally. Anyway, it was all pretty cool. A little while late another cd showed up with a little bit of a story: Household Gods: Palace Intrigue. So I'd ordered this right after Vern Rumsey died. Didn't even realize it'd be a preorder as the digital album was already out, but then it was months of delays with the pressing and issues with the label or whatever. Not a complaint, I know everything had to have been crazy over on their end. But yeah, a gift from the past. Later Mary Beth and I watched some Simpsons and then we watched Fox and His Friends (the Fassbinder movie, not like Fox News or whatever) and it was good Slept in a bit this morning. Woke up to the plumber being back still fixing the upstairs' water.
