So for the past, probably not quite two weeks but approaching that, I've had a low level pain in my left testicle that hasn't been exceptionally bad but it was constant and always there and that's a long time. I called the doctor yesterday and they were able to set up a same-day appointment for the afternoon! So I took that and went and they were pretty sure it was an infection. So I went upstairs to another doctor and got an ultrasound to make sure it wasn't anything more serious. So I got out of it the rare treat of seeing my balls on that grainy, somewhat-3d ultrasound screen and that was kind cool. I mean, probably what you might expect, like those ultrasound baby pictures except just a big oval. That doctor didn't see anything bad like signs of cancer or even signs that it was a bad infection, just that the left tube is a little larger which could indicate a mild infection. So I picked up my prescription for antibiotics on the way home. Oh, and mildly amusing anecdote is that I think I was asked the covid litany of questions ("do you have a fever?"...etc, etc) four separate times while in the building (not counting the initial run on the phone when I set up the appointment). Of course I understand why and all that, it's just slightly amusing. Anyway, it was a relief to get that news. I mean, you're naturally thinking what kind of bad shit could be going on when you've got a constant pain in a testicle for over a week. I was at least finally able to get to sleep last night. I was also really fucking exhausted-tired. So here's to today and hopefully it'll all get back to regular soon.
