Early Vote
Feb. 12th, 2020 05:21 pmHad a show last night at the P&H. It was pretty good. Not a lot of people there, but seeing as how the locals were thrown on very last minute a week ago, not too bad. It was weird 'cuz I left my phone at home and I felt so naked without it! But Kole and I flipped a coin (or twirled a marker or something) and I ended up going first. My set probably went okay. Hard to tell. I use a ukulele run through the modular so that was a novelty for me. Brook Pridemore was next. He kinda had a Neutral Milk Hotel thing going on with the acoustic guitar run through distortion (and the singing style). Some of his stuff was pretty good. He could be a little on the silly side. We traded cds and I got his album Metal Is My Only Friend. Pas Moi was last and very good as always. They were working with a little bit of new equipment, this little sample trigger thing. It gave a nice dimension to their sound. The door guy at the P&H, a guy I don't know, seemed super into my set which was nice and surprising. Early voting started today and Mary Beth and I went and did that after I got off of work. Woo! Oh, a slightly older thing that I mention a couple days ago and forgot. Well, for the holiday season, Mary Beth ordered a variety of three different fruitcakes from different companies to try them out. Two were from monks (one Trappist and one Franciscan, I believe). The first one we tried (I think this was the Trappist monks) was the best and it was sososososo good (I like fruitcake anyway, which I guess makes me weird). Anyway, we finally finished the last one a few days ago. Uh, I just wanted to talk about fruitcake.
