This Week

I worked on music a little bit yesterday. I finally recorded a some hi-hat sounds for the Flashdance cover. I mean, it took a bunch of tries 'cuz things I was trying weren't working out but I guess I finally got something. Mary Beth and I watched Annihilation at night. I'm not exactly sure what I thought of it. I mean, my initial glib reaction was "Stalker with plot holes." Not sure if "plot holes" is exactly right to capture my feeling, but just an overarching feeling of most everything not fitting. I liked the atmosphere, especially in the middle of the movie. I went back and forth on the aesthetics. At times I really liked it and at other times I absolutely hated it. I definitely do not like that one kind of contemporary thing where everything is all glared out all the time (kind've akin to the whole Abrams lens flare thing but more pervasive) and it had that in spades. Anyway, just some random thoughts. I'll probably think some more later.
