Last night I backwards-watched the beginning of Eighth Grade which I missed the night before. Still really good and glad I'm caught up! Mary Beth and I continued watching some of Science Is Fiction and then I went out to a show at Pagan Mom House. It was a good show. Noiserpuss was first and he has a new plexi-glass case for his eurroack so you could see the backs of his modules and glowing lights. He had a good set as always. Next was Salvation, on tour from Chicago. They were pretty good live, very loud. I picked up a couple of their cds afterwards: Year of the Fly and Royal Fucks. Last up was Starfighter Yellow Superoverdrive and they were great as always. They had audience participation for this one. Jesse and Olivia started off just playing some pedals on a small table before going to their instruments (bass and drums) but left out the table for audience members to continue playing with. It was a pretty cool happening. Another highlight was talking to Salvation's merch person. I overheard her talking to some others about barbecue and eating food in town so I naturally had to chime in because I guess I just gotta talk about Memphis barbecue. I recommended Payne's and it sounded like that's what they were going to go with as of the end of the night so here's hoping some travelers enjoyed some Payne's barbecue! Then today I went to work and I came home to the last of my books from The Strand in the mail: Tropisms by Nathalie Sarraute (and I knew it was going to be a small book but dang it's super-small!).
