Phone, Car

I got a new phone yesterday. It's the Christmas present from my parents. I met my dad at a store out east and picked it out. It's a Galaxy Note 10. Seems pretty nice and it doesn't have a huge pink line running down the screen nor buttons that are sometimes-responsive. So some plusses. I didn't love my last Galaxy (it was an S6), at least compared to the phone before it (though at least it never bricked out like that phone), but I read that the 10s are better than previous Galaxies so we'll see. So far I think I like it better than my old phone, even discounting defects from aging. It even has a stylus, which I guess is somewhat fancy. Afterwards I went by their house and hung out for a little bit. I played with Anthony a good bit, throwing back and forth a plush Stormtrooper and then a plush cat. He was hamming it up and jumping around far more than was necessary, but having fun getting himself into a sweat. On the way home, my car made a little funny noise while accelerating and then the engine light came on. The noise didn't happen again after that and nothing else seemed to happen but the light's on and I ended up taking it to the shop this morning. They won't get to looking at it til tomorrow. But back to yesterday. Mary Beth and I ended up doing our errands later, but then wrapped the night up watching The Simpsons. While I was waiting for my Lyft driver to pick me up from the shop, Nate saw me while driving by and messaged me. Oh, I mentioned in my last post how the night before last Mary Beth and I read to each other, but I didn't say that she read to me the Paul Bowles story "You Are Not I" and it was great and then she read to me "A Letter" by Hugo Hofmannsthal which was also good! Good readings to!
