tuesday: i skipped my models of comp class again...as i'm still not ready for my presentation...then i was going to go to my real analysis class later...i stopped off at Justin's before, but i didn't end up going...being pretty much too emberassed to show my face in there...after how i did on that test last week...we went over to his parents' and ate a nice dinner...afterwards we called up Brad and met him at the space to do a little rockin'...it was pretty much Brad and i making noise on the Moog/guitar effects while Justin tried to maintain some blues riffage...pretty amusing...then we went over to Justin's to watch Mulholland Drive...now, Justin has always been the worst person to watch a movie w/ (as he talks and asks dumb questions throughout the whole thing), but as this was Mulholland Drive it was amplified to even higher levels of obnoxiousness...he had seen it before but just wanted Brad to explain it to him this time...so he'd pause it and ask a question like ever 15 seconds...also, when it got to the big lesbian scene he was all trying to pause it and zoom in and put it in slo-mo and whatnot and in the process accidentally stopped it...now, for some reason David Lynch was an asshole and didn't seperate the "scenes" into separate tracks, just one long continuous movie...so we had to fast forward back to where we were from the beginning...which took a long time as it was like at least an hour and a half into the movie...

yesterday: went to class...went home and took a little nap...went to work...after that i went over to Brad's...before we left for Neil's, a game of Aggravation was played...it was my first time to win...woohoo! i had gotten a call from work asking me to come back in 'cuz it was raining and got really busy all of a sudden...but then as we were leaving and i was heading to work, i got called back saying it had died down again...so i proceeded to Neil's for krokieokie...first i did "I Want to Know What Love Is"...it rocked the house...then Brad and i were going to do "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" and it looped back around to the beginning and we hadn't gone yet...so i went up and saw the card had been moved under my name instead of in Brad's spot as it had been...i asked Donna why it had been movied and she started to give me this spiel about how bad i sing and, while she didn't care so much, the bartenders had been complaining because they said several regular customers now refuse to go there on wednesday nights because they can't stand listening to me sing...which, if it's true, is really funny...she said i only sang w/ Brad so i could go twice in one rotation, which, i'll admit is nice, but Brad doesn't sing alone, and our duets are always classics anyway...but i got her to let us go and then me go later in the round...so we sang our song and it was wonderful...when i went by myself i did "Take Me to the River" (Talking Heads version, actually...) another note, last night was the night for Paul's first practice w/ The Family Ghost and he was to meet us up there...he had showed up for a second and one point but left w/out saying anything to us...we had gotten a little worried...but he called me half an hour before we needed to be going...and we met up w/ him and went to the space so all was well in rock-town...

rock: first we started working on turning this guitar part Jacques had come up w/ a long time ago into a song...i was playing guitar at first but then i moved to the Korg...it fit more nicely w/ the song w/ its drone...Jason ended up barging in w/ some others to retrieve "Nemesis"' gear...he was acting a bit twattish as well...it's looking like they'll never practice there again...which doesn't bother me save for the fact that now i doubt any of those assholes are gonna pay anything towards getting my drum synth fixed...(FUCKERS) and i dunno if i'll even be able to get them pay the rent that they haven't paid all of for the months they have been using the space...my only regret is that i didn't get to break anything of thiers...we worked on the song a little more a Brad did his usual, pissy early exit...then the other three of us just kind've jammed (which was my original intent for the practice...) i was on guitar, Paul on bass, Jacques on drums...it was quite rockin'...then after that it was decided we'd quickly show Paul one of the "old" songs...the easiest we felt would be "Taken"...it seems i'm now giving my bass part over to Paul and picking up Keith's drum part, as it's at least semi-complicated...it's gonna be weird singing and playing the drums but i guess i'll manage...that was also my first time ever playing that drum part...trying to sing was a nice mess...even though i only sing a little on that song...all in all i'd say the practice went rather well...it's looking like Paul will be a far-more-than-adequate addition to the band...as it's looking more and more like Keith will no longer have anything to do w/ the band at all anymore...i've heard reports that when someone asked him how the band was doing recently he replied "there is no more band"...maybe he was just referring to Bored to Tears, but i'm sure he's talking about all the bands in general...whatever...i think it's pretty stupid of him to think the band can't exist w/out him...Jacques and i were the band years before we got him...anyway, thanks for rockin' w/ us, Paul...it was rockin'...The Family Ghost lives!!!

today: i woke up w/ a call from Camy's...i was supposed to go in at 2 to door hang, it was like a quarter after when i got the call...i doubt i'm in too much trouble, but that kind've sucks...i realized afterwards that i had set my alarm for 4 instead of 1, to wake up for my normal working shift...bah! oh well...i might be going to retrieve my car tonight...we'll see...

Sorry for the "pissy early exit", but I was a wee bit disheartened and distracted by a phone call I recieved during practice...

Well, it seems you are the ultimate karaoke singer. I can't imagine anything more appropriate than being avoided in the rotation due to regular customer complaints.

i like to vary my "styles" a bit, but on the average i'd say i sing closer to a 12 yr old boy being choked to death...or maybe not, but it's at least funny to say it that way...and yes, i have certainly mastered my art into a science...the best is when ppl are verbally assaulting you when you sing...i wonder if it'd even cross their minds in the slightest that the more they do that the more they encourage me to be even more obnoxious...
