Broken Recording (That Is a Recording)

Yesterday was a big day of working on music and recording. I actually got the drums done. I mean, it was a pretty sloppy affair (I need to hit my kit with a modicum of regularity!). But I got through it, even if I had to go back and overdub a few places (and that left for some awkward punch-in irregularities, but I guess I knew I wouldn't be able to get through a full take without messing something up and mostly those irregularities are covered up with the addition of other recorded instruments). But after all is said and done there are still a few bits that are off rhythmically, I'm hoping I can do a little cut-and-paste shifting to fix 'em up a bit. We'll see! You know what they say about fixing shitty playing in post...uh, it's always a great idea that works! I'm pretty sure that's what they say. Also, there were some other parts I'd recorded before the drums, where they were the only thing there when I recorded and they sounded okay by themselves, but when I got to recording everything else, it stands out that they were actually very off (in a place or two), I'm hoping I can shift that shit around as well! We will see! Everything was done modular, so by now if I tried to rerecord I don't know that I'd have the sound right...so fix it in post it is! Anyway, I got a bunch more done than I thought I would've at this point. Wasn't sure I'd even get close to finishing by this weekend, but I may...maybe... Now it's a new day and I'm back to trying to wrap this thing up!
