I finished reading The Island of Crimea by Vassily Aksyonov today. It was okay. I'd liked the other book I read by him a lot, though that was a long time ago. Maybe they had different translators and that was part of it? (Though they may have had the same one, I'm not sure I don't have that book next to me.) The characterization felt a little flat. This one definitely had more Plot elements (and I don't think they were that well-executed). There were some of the things I remembered liking about the other one, but there were stretches where I was like "ehh..". Anyway. There's my very shitty book review. I came home to a package containing a bunch of deodorant (exciting!). Then I exercised. That's about it, ya'll (hypothetical).
