Store Wares
Dec. 15th, 2017 04:00 pmI went over to Luís's last night. Brought the Prophet 'cuz he wanted to check it out 'cuz he's thinking about maybe getting one. So we just hung out and chilled with Emily for a little bit. She almost put some playdough on the keys and then got very upset when we told her not to (she was also a little on edge anyway since her mommy was coming home late). Today was a "fun" day at "work." It's the now-annual tradition of an IT All Hands Meeting that's watching the new Star Wars movie. (I missed last year's 'cuz I was at Day for Night.) I started it off by going to the wrong movie theater! I could have sworn I read Paradiso on the email invite. Luckily I was running a little early. I got there and it was locked and no one was there (of course) so I waited in my car for a few minutes. After maybe five minutes or so I'm like, it's early but it's getting to be not THAT early. So I pull out my ticket and actually look at it and see that it's actually at Wolfchase. Luckily I had JUST enough time to rush on over. So I make it just in time and the theater's pretty crowded. I did find a seat in the back row (the screen was huge though so it didn't even feel like I was far away anyway). We started with the cto's little speech (ironically no projection/powerpoint capability in the theater). Then a little break and free popcorn though they didn't plan out the distribution very well and it was a long long line. Okay, so then we watched the The Last Jedi. It was alright, pretty entertaining for one of these movies, a few cheesy bits. It was less pastiche than the previous one (that it's a direct sequel to). My joke was that it was weird that they went with recreating the wookie porn scene from the christmas special. And then shortly after noon my "work" day was over! I went across the street to Target to pick up a smaller synth table (as in a regular folding table that I will use to put synths on top of). Then Mary Beth and I went downtown to the vet to pick up Trudy's joint medicine. While there we had lunch at the Arcade. And that's about it. It's still early and it's still the weekend! Woo. Oh dorf! I almost forgot to mention that also my librarything santathing books came today! I got: Possession by A. S. Byatt, The Hundred Brothers by Donald Antrim, Log of the S.S. the Mrs Unguentine by Stanley Crawford, and Satantango by László Krasznahorkai. Not familiar with any of these so excited about the new discoveries (at least the receiving seems to have gone better than the picking this year!).
