Severe Tire Damage
Dec. 3rd, 2017 10:31 amWell, yesterday was certainly an interesting day! Before we start on the weekly errands, we went up to the Dixon to hit the window where it was free. Anyway, I'm pulling into the driveway in Mary Beth's car and there's this security guard standing in the middle and then he suddenly points to the right. I'm keeping in mind not to hit him and overcompensate just enough to slam the front tire against the curb. Oops, okay, and then we park, get out of the car, and hear the loud hissing sound. So I'd destroyed the tire. I moved the car to where I wouldn't be next to anyone on that side so I could change it out when we were done. The main exhibit was a collection based on historical dresses but done all in paper. As always, I was happy to also go in the back room and look at their permanent exhibit. Their Mary Cassatt painting is just phenomenal. And all the other great impressionist ones they have. So we're there a while and look at art and all and then when we're done it's back to the real world and time to change out the tire. So I do that. The real fun thing is that the spare is flat too. Since it's not torn up, I at least drive on what little air it does have, slowly, to the tire store. So we drop it off and get a lyft home. Would have swung by home and picked up the other car first, but it was already not good driving on the spare in the condition it was in so had to minimize all that. Then we do our regular errands in my car. I got back home to a package in the mail. One little module: a 2hp Brst. Also a bunch of washers for my system. Now I can finally avoid the rack rash. And a couple Creel Pone cds: v/a: Música Electroacústica and v/a: In Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Experimental Music Studios. While I'm putting the new module in, I was also investigating the Knit Rider some (based on some email back-and-forth with the manufacturer). Anyway, I find the micro sd piece in the bottom of my case. It had fallen off the circuit board. Also, while down there the part of the sd card that was sticking out had snapped. Anyway, let them know. I'm sure I'll have to send it back to them. Back to the car. Ended up having to replace both front tires (as they were both pretty worn anyway). I also damaged the sensor on the tire so had to replace that. But now her car's good as new. It does seem to drive more smoothly too. So that's a plus. After that we met Josh and Molly for dinner at Next Door. Good food and good chattin'. Then back at home we caught up to current with Brooklyn 99. And there you have all the excitement.
