Yesterday was kinda weird in that I met someone I ran into at Indie Memphis for coffee (or apple cider for me). Guy from white privilege workshop. Kinda just talked a bit. He saw some of my synth posts and is interested in making music so he talked some about that. I actually got the time wrong and showed up thirty minutes early so I stepped over to Goner but didn't find anything. Afterwards I went next door to Two Rivers and talked to Heather for a little bit. Then Mary Beth and I went and got some shots! Exciting stuff. We got a flu shot and a tetanus shot. It was pretty painless. Feel the tetanus shot a little bit in my arm but it's almost nothing. We went and had dinner at Sushi Jimmi and ended the night watching some movies. We watched the Martha Graham: Dance on Film Criterion set. Then we watched Bicycle Thieves. I had a moment of happiness in the shower this morning (wait, that sounds weird...), but there was a song that played before The Jesus and Mary Chain's set (after "Halleluwah" by Can and "Kool Thing" by Sonic Youth) that I knew was familiar but could not place it. I thought I had but realized I was wrong. Anyway, it hit me in the shower that it's Faust! Haven't identified the specific song yet, but I'm almost positive it's them. The song had been looping in my head since the show as I was trying to figure it out! Work today was pretty uneventful. Oh except maybe Zach has a doppelganger! I thought I saw him in a meeting in the room right near where I sit, on his phone during the meeting as well. So I slacked him to "PAY ATTENTION!" Then he was like what are you talking about? And turns out he wasn't in that room today and so it must be a doppelganger! Granted I wasn't close and didn't look closely, but still... After work I came home to some cds in the mail: Severed Heads: Since the Accident and P.A.I.N.: Pennsylvania Ambient Industrial Noise (a three disc compilation that was super cheap and Maurice, who remotely played Memphis Concrète as snwv, is on it so hell yeah!). So more music to be excited about!
