Last night was the big night at the drive in for "shocktober." They had a super-solid lineup: Psycho, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Night of the Living Dead, and Carnival of Souls. It's also the first one I've been to with five movies (still much shorter than the four Kubrick movies one). They always play some local shorts in between the movies and this time they played with that Jacques was in doing a bit part as well as the soundtrack (it's that John Carpenter sounding song in his Revenge Body set). The whole thing's the slow shot of a guy going towards a door and cutting to people doing goofy characters telling him not to go in the door. Jacques was dressed as a vampire with plastic fangs doing a goofy voice. Okay, so then we watched a bunch of awesome movies! It was the most packed with cars I'd ever seen it, the parking lot was literally full. I think people were parking on the edge of the next screen's lot. The weather was also perfect for it. I put on my jacket when the wind picked up but it was mostly pleasant. And no bugs. I hadn't seen Psycho in like twenty years so it was nice that it help up (especially considering how I'm not into a lot of the Hitchcock movies I've seen since). Everything else, you know, just great classic horror movies. I was happy to get a picture of the famous shot where Michael Myers comes out of the shadows on the big screen. Only negative thing is I broke the chair I was sitting on by the end of the night. It was all over about 3:30 so I was able to get to bed close to 4. Not bad considering. I slept til a little after noon so I managed to get decent sleep but still feel a bit tired.
