Talkin' Downtown

Woo! First time posting from my new laptop. Let's hope this doesn't turn annoying or anything horrible. No real reason it's taken me so long, just lazy to change. So last night Mary Beth and I went to see Perfume Genius at Minglewood. I hadn't been into anything I'd heard before, which is admittedly not much so it was good I gave 'em another chance. The show was quite good. The opening band's called Summer Palace, who are from Nashville. They were pretty good. Their first song was their best. They were kinda indie pop and sometimes had a krauty thing going (especially in that first song) as well as some other stuff. Though the singer seemed like he was on the verge of laughing every time he sang. Perfume Genius was good. We were right up front. Lots of moves from the singer. I ended up getting shirts for both bands and Perfume Genius: No Shape on cd. The show was even early and we were back home before bedtime! Ooh la la. I was worried at first 'cuz hardly anyone was there when the opening band started, but people ended up showing up.

Today at work was kinda fun. Went downtown to take a tour of the new headquarters. A group ate at the Flying Saucer which is right next door but also kinda weird to eat there. They have burgers and that was fine. The tour is just of the innovation center on the ground floor (as that's the only thing open now). Pretty cool to see. After it was over I went home to finish the day working from home. Now it looks like the thing I thought I was finished with isn't quite where it needs to be so I should get back to that. Oh yeah! And I bought Dustin's Mutable Instruments Clouds. He dropped it off today. So later I should be having some fun installing that!
