Mary Beth got me hooked on this phone game called Kami 2 last night. It's a puzzle game. What else? We did the pick up preordered groceries last night. Yeah, that was the big excitement. Back to work today. Not a whole lot going. I think I'm feeling ever the closer to normal. Hopefully I'm back there pretty soon. Met the guy who's taking over for Pradnya next pi...Vineeth, he's relatively new to servicemaster but currently on a team using our communication api and was asking us questions about it last week so he's at least familiar with it from the other end.

Okay, now for the fun stuff that I missed or misrepresented in my last post. First, some of the cool buildings in Birmingham. We were right next to the Alabama public television station and that had a really cool building. Also, the dull blue plastic building directly across from us. I'd meant to give a little more on the record stores but kinda blew past them. Renaissance Records was like a small junk/antiques store. Lots of things crammed together in sections that didn't have any order to them. Seasick Records was like the hip indie record store. Oh, and remember how I'm talking about picking up some Future cd, well here's something so you know what a clueless poser I am. I thought I'd picked up a Future album called Elevators. Well, instead I pick up an eponymous album by a local Birmingham band Future Elevators. I was thrown off 'cuz the art style was reminiscent of that "other" Future album I recently got (and I was feeling a little desperate trying to find something at all to get). Anyway, I guess I'll be setting out on a sonic adventure with it? I was also wrong about the opening band's name. Their matching shirts were referencing a song of theirs but that's not their band name, it's Har Mar Superstar. Anyway, they sucked but thought I should get that record straight. And that drunk woman that was shouting that I'm an asshole to everyone. Her boyfriend that she was with is worth describing. Denim jacket and longish, shoulder-length stringy hair. He was sort of like if Durrell from Kids in the Hall was mixed with a guy who starts fights in bars in a movie. While she was saying all this, he was also talking "at" me about the earplugs I was wearing and maybe he should take them out and he wondered if I could hear anything with them, I guess trying to kind of calm her down and kind of provoke me at the same time. Also worth noting are the pseudo-covers the Afghan Whigs did. They did this one song and kept the guitar part going and Greg started singing "Boys of Summer" and I knew it was the words to that somehow even though I didn't know those words (I mean, it wasn't the "deadhead sticker on a cadillac" line, though it was confirmed when he got to the chorus) but it was strengthened 'cuz their guitar part they kept playing is kinda the guitar part for that song. Also during a long bluesy breakdown, he started the monologue of "The End" and that was kinda funny. That's about the stuff worth mentioning. Oh and last Tuesday, I think, I forgot to mention that Melissa gave me Linda Heck's new cd Experimental Connections in the Memphis along with a cdr of electronic stuff she's been working on. I should give it a listen sometime.
