BAR-TON-FINK! BAR-TON-FINK!
Nov. 20th, 2016 09:14 amI went up to the Brooks yesterday to see Barton Fink. Never seen it before and it was really really damn good. Definitely right up my alley and up there for Cohen brothers movies I've seen. Later in the evening Mary Beth and I went up to first congo to see a Playback performance for trans awareness week. This was also the "post-election" performance so it went heavily in that direction. They ask questions of the audience and get the audience to say things about how they're feeling and then they do a brief bit of acting it out. Towards the end they got one person to share a longer story which they acted out afterwards. It was a story about a time years ago that she was attacked for being trans. That was a pretty emotional moment. Also when the lady who organized it said the election isn't going to be all that different because the bad things that people fear are things she goes through on a daily basis anyway.
