Last night Mary Beth went and saw Second City at gpac. My parents randomly gave us tickets a few months ago. So the whole thing was kinda random and I wasn't sure quite what to expect, but it ended up being really good. The act was funny and there were some good laughs. The political stuff was good and a lot of it was pretty sharp, but one skit in particular got to me as especially funny: just this thing where one of the ladies was acting like a middle school or whatever chorus teacher conducting "America the Beautiful" with her class (the audience, more or less). And she's interacting some with a few people in the front row. Well, one woman she picks as the foreign exchange student so asks what country she's from or where she's from and gets the reply "Mud Island." Her reaction as a non-Memphian to "Mud Island" was pretty funny (as an added bit of funny to the whole thing). Also worth mentioning was the reply from an audience member to the question "what's something that would be disgusting as a pizza topping?, "sausage." Okay. What else? Oh yeah, I motherfucking voted today! A few months ago (even though I was prepared to do so) I wouldn't've thought I'd be ecstatic voting for Hillary Clinton, but I am. Fucking ecstatic to have gotten to vote for her. Also ecstatic to get the fucking thing over with and behind me. Only just over two more weeks to go for this fucking thing. And yeah, fuck that motherfucker. Fuck him right in the eye. My only regret is I know he won't deliver on his promise that "if" he loses we'll never hear from him again. One kinda weird thing. When I was signing the printout form to confirm my information, the zip code was wrong (which I noticed yesterday I think when I logged into the state site to look at my information). It said 38112 instead of 38104. I mean I've been living here for 13 damn years. My registration used to be correct. I wonder if it's some weird vote repression shit that happened this year, switch zip codes in the case people show up to the "wrong" location on election day and are too discouraged to go to the correct one (at least with early voting that doesn't matter). Anyway, I did say something since I noticed and was signing the form and they made a note on the paper so I hope that doesn't fuck shit up. They said it wouldn't. I know I'm being a little paranoid, and I don't really think it, but still. Okay. I should go do other shit.
