Rock Again
Aug. 14th, 2016 04:51 pmThe Family Ghost was back to practicing today. First full band practice in forever since Ryan is finally back from his summer of teaching in India. We got together a set for OUR SHOW THIS SATURDAY AT THE LAMPLIGHTER. Since the Lamplighter is so tiny I figured we'd do our new electronic stuff as that'll take less room (no drums). Other dudes wanted to do some of our older songs so we put together a mix but agreed on old songs that don't have drums. So we ran through stuff and we have a set. A lot of forgetting shit since it's been so long since we've played some of that stuff. Mary Beth and I spent a good bit of time talking to Ryan about his trip to India so that was cool. And the three of us went and grabbed burgers at Tops (so good, still drinking my delicious sweet tea).
Okay, some stuff I forgot to mention from my last post. I said I'd talk about the argument I had with my dad. We're talking and he starts in with some shit about how every country that Muslims go to ends up turning violent and starting in on this Islamophobic shit so I start cussing him out calling that bullshit. Mary Beth said she's never heard me talk to my dad like that. Also some crap about every country that's over 50% Muslim banning Christianity and all terrorism being Muslims killing Christians and Christians don't kill Muslims like that (I know that's gonna be pretty damn easy to debunk, though I'm scared that facts won't mater, as Mary Beth pointed out, if you've already been susceptible to an opinion that's so stupid in the first place, how can you even be lured to a different opinion by reason?). So that's some awkwardness I guess. But even if it's futile, I couldn't take that racist shit. Also, I looked it up on amazon and it looks like that The Body album that was out of print is back in print and able to be gotten easily so my find wasn't that special, still been itching to have it for a while so all is good.
