ateolf: (i ♥ George)
First day at the new building yesterday. Pretty nice. We got them desks that move up and down now so I've got my desk where I'm standing and it's pretty sweet. Get a little tired by the end of the day in my feet, but I'll get used to it. We have cabinets next to our desks that are cushioned to serve as chairs so I can sit down if I'm tired and they're actually pretty comfortable. I have a chair, but I keep it out of the way as much as possible. For the most part I'm standing all day though. So yeah, liking the new location. And my team is all right together in one area. Okay, so I went in early and left early yesterday to load and set up for the relatively early show. Show was pretty sweet. I'll go over all that in its own post. Oh damn. I didn't mention Wednesday night! We went up to Studio on the Square to see Videodrome! Indie Memphis's last installment of the Memphis in May salute to Canada. So yeah, I mean, it's Videodrome. Great to see it on a big screen. There was also a q&a panel afterwards and there was this u of m professor and a journalist and a Black Lodge dude and it was a pretty good discussion. Everyone was drooling over the professor's Ukranian (I think it was) accent. Okay, then there was work today. It was fine though this one database table is giving me the blues with how it's set up and persisting to it and all that jazz. Just troubles I shouldn't be having. Anyway, gotta leave early 'cuz of the holiday weekend! Yeah! Now we'll spend this wonderful weekend night...grocery shopping!

The show last night was pretty cool. It was a completely different setup than we'd ever done before, all electronic. Jacques just triggered his sampler with his guitar, Paul just played the string synth, Ryan played some on the Prophet and his Korg modeling synth, and I played some on the Prophet and Moog and some on the eurorack. Was played with the other Paul (Ihcilon) and had one long continuous set. We played first and bled all our songs into one another then Paul came up while we were playing and went straight into it, not stopping either. Then The Family Ghost came back up and we all played together. Three hours total, an hour per set. It was a lot of fun. Josh ran projections as well and was doing some awesome stuff (though I only saw it when I wasn't playing, so only during Ihcilon's set). There was a big storm that night so the turnout wasn't great, but there were some people there. Not sure how well they liked it, but we had fun. Here's our "setlist." Kinda dumb even including it 'cuz none of these have titles yet and I'm just going to list what I call 'em.

Ambient
John Carpenter Rip-Off
Ambient Disco
Spooky Pop
Dentist's Drill

Anyway, it was a pretty early show so I got home not too late. That's about it for that, yeah.
