Okay, jesus fucking christ. I'd been typing this post and my browser fucking reloaded and I lost it all. Ugh. I'm moving to sublime to retype it and I'll paste it back in. Fucking lame ass crap. Okay. So we were off yesterday morning to my cousin Cara's wedding in Jonesboro. I'd heard about some record store kinda nearby out in the middle of nowhere so I wanted to check it out. It seemed like it might be cool. It's called Tim's Weird World and it's in the middle of farmland and shit. I almost thought it was even on a gravel road, but it turns out google tells you to turn the wrong way down the street it's on. If you turn left instead of right, it's paved. Okay. They mostly specialize in vinyl, and also old video games and shit (a bunch of Atari stuff). I almost was tempted to check out the videogames but wanted to focus on cds as we didn't have a lot of time before the wedding. I picked up some stuff: Fugazi: 13 Songs, Philip Glass: Dance No. 1-5, Wattstax, Laurie Anderson: Big Science, The Clean: Anthology, Dirty Three: Ocean Songs, Dirty Three: Whatever You Love, You Are, and Fugazi: In on the Kill Taker. The latter was one I had way back in high school (until Angel made fun of me for having a Fugazi album...to be fair, I never really got that into it, I was more trying to convince myself that I liked it than actually liking it...). A couple I may end up replacing: the Wattstax is missing the insert and as it stands there's no track listing elsewhere, and In on the Kill Taker's insert is completely water damaged and stuck together. At least everything was super-cheap. The guy gave me slack for getting cds instead of vinyl. I told him I came of age in the 90s. Screw it, I like cds and I don't care for vinyl. I may end up making a trip back there one day too look at the videogame stuff (and maybe some more cds!). Okay, so now we're going to the wedding down in Jonesboro. It was an episcopalian church service. Whew. We're about where I was when I lost everything. Marching on. Okay, yeah, the wedding was nice. It was kinda weird 'cuz the wedding ended close to 2:30 and the reception wasn't til 5:30. Never been to Jonesboro so I looked up ways to kill time. The timing with food was weird 'cuz we hadn't eaten yet and were hungry so we couldn't wait til 5, but if we ate then there wasn't really enough time to be hungry again by the time we would be eating oh well. We ate. Found some place called Skinny J's in the little downtown area. It was really good. We started with reuben eggrolls. Mary Beth had some insane cornbread sandwich with egg and all this stuff. I had an open-faced hamburger. That didn't kill all the time so we went to this hotel lobby where some of my family was staying. Alright. Mary Beth wants to go for a walk so I'm pausing this for now. Whew! Back. My legs is a bit tired. Okay. Where was I? Wasting time with a bunch of filler. Okay, then we went to the reception. It was good. Ate again and got way too full, as expected. After we got back home at night we went over to Melissa's for Ryan's going-away-to-India-for-the-summer party. A bunch of people in the backyard with a fire, drunk and injuring themselves trying to break limbs. The Family Ghost practiced this morning. It was the first time we've gone through all the songs in the set. Okay, lotta fuckin' around so it came together pretty well and we've got a set. We picked a couple new drum patters for a couple of the songs. Okay, I guess we're ready for THE SHOW AT CROSSTOWN THIS THURSDAY (early show, we start at 7, then Ichlon plays, then we all play together!). Okay, then I started writing this post and then Mary Beth and I went for a walk and you know all that already.
